After two successful events in 2014 and 2015, members of the RECALL project are organizing the third edition of the WAHM “Workshop on Ubiquitous Technologies for Augmenting the Human Mind“, which is going to take place at Ubicomp16 in Heidelberg, Germany.
In RECALL we aim to augment human memory in several ways; one of which being the strand of semantic memory. Therefore, we started looking into the design of knowledge acquisition points and – due to its prominence in learning and information consumption – reading.
With the advent of the information age and the creation of electronic reading devices – such as mobile phones, e-readers or tablets – our reading behavior has been changing and we are facing new challenges, one of which being information overload. We are bombarded with an abundance of text on a daily basis: news, emails, tweets, feeds, books, papers, articles, technical literature and pleasure readings.
